This notice explains how personal data is handled when you use walat.dev, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / RODO). It is written to be clear rather than exhaustive; it is not legal advice.

Who is responsible
walat.dev is a personal portfolio operated by Kacper Walat, an individual based in Poland, acting as the data controller for any personal data described here. For any privacy request, contact me at the address at the bottom of this page.
What the site itself collects
The site serves static content. It sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, so it does not build a profile of you. The hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes standard technical logs — such as IP address and request metadata — to serve the site securely and keep it available. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in operating and protecting the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Booking a call
The “Book a call” buttons open Cal.com in a new tab. When you book, you provide details such as your name, email and the reason for the meeting. Cal.com processes these on my behalf so I can arrange and hold the call with you. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before any engagement, and my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
Who processes your data
Besides me, two service providers may process data on my behalf: Vercel Inc. (website hosting) and Cal.com, Inc. (scheduling). Both are based in the United States, so a transfer outside the European Economic Area may occur; it is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. I do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.
How long it is kept
Booking details and any correspondence are kept only as long as needed to respond to and manage your enquiry, and then deleted, unless a longer period is required by law. Technical server logs follow the hosting provider’s standard retention.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can, regarding your own personal data:
- Request access to it, and a copy
- Have it corrected or completed
- Have it erased, or its processing restricted
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Request portability of data you provided
- Lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority (PUODO, uodo.gov.pl)
Synthetic demonstrations
All records and conversations in the interactive builds are fictional and created for demonstration. They contain no client, employer or personal operational data, and describe an illustrative approach rather than a specific completed engagement.

The content, field notes and interactive demos are provided for illustration and education, “as is”, without warranty, and are not professional advice for your specific situation. The site’s design, text, code and graphics are the intellectual property of Kacper Walat and may not be reproduced without permission. Changes
This notice may be updated as the site evolves — for example if a contact form or analytics is added. The date above shows the current version.
